About the Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival, known as Duanwu Jie in China, occurs on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar and boasts a history of over 2,000 years. The festival primarily commemorates Qu Yuan, a beloved ancient Chinese poet and minister known for his patriotism. Today, it is celebrated worldwide with vibrant dragon boat races and the enjoying of Zongzi (traditional sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves), symbolizing unity, health, and prosperity.
